This scholarship is named after current MSGCU Board Chairperson, William Cayen, who has served on the Board of Directors for over 50 years. He is passionate about helping trade and vocational school students achieve their dreams. This scholarship award was established in 2019 to help offset the costs of skilled trade certificate programs such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, welding, HVAC, automotive, construction, or other industrial and advanced technologies, which are in high demand here in Michigan.
Recipients will be selected based on a number of criteria, including academic excellence, three simple questions, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher, instructor, or administrator. Two (2) one-time $2,500 scholarships are offered in 2024.
